Watercolor Food Illustration

Food illustration has become my passion these days. There is something about spending my time looking at food and trying to capture the exact look of the food or drinks. Here are my latest watercolor of food and drinks!

All of my watercolor is on Arches Cold Press 300 g/m

My watercolor paint that I am using is Windsor and Newton tubes and Sennelier L’Aquarelle Watercolor pan set

Chocolate Strawberry Cake. I find it hard to get the plate down correctly. I am more comfortable with just the food illustration. I need to continue to work on pushing myself out of my comfort zone with watercoloring the plate.

Salmon rolls183

Salmon sashimi, this is a mix of watercolor and macron pen.

Spaghetti

Spaghetti with tomatoe sauce. This was a first for me to draw and watercolor a fork. Again this is a mix for watercolor and macron pen.

Orange Vokha drink

Sunset Vodka Drink with Strawberry. Another challenge for me is getting the ice cubes and glass rim perfect and less sloppy.

All of my watercolor food illustrations are on my Zazzle shops.

Watercolor Show And Tell

Here are my latest watercolor and illustrations!

For a Beach challenge I had to watercolor a pool float! So I wanted to create some thing that was a little bit more exciting than just a pool floats without a background. So I did this fun water pattern with my float.
This is for a flower watercolor challenge, dahlias. I decide to do painterly Dahlias.
For another flower art challenge, this is a realistic Peony to the best of my ability!
For the beach challenge, I had to watercolor a sun hat. So this gave me a great opportunity to practice my female profile illustrations.
Again for the beach challenge, I had to watercolor a fish. So I decided to work on my watercolor background and draw my beta fish in ink.
This was for a doodle wash challenge, I had to create a raspberry tart. This was a lot of fun to work on as I love to illustrate food.

Watercolor Easter Bunny During Coronavirus

blueEaster Bunny

The new reality for at least right now. The importance of wearing a facemask so the Coronavirus doesn’t spread. Years from now, when I look back at my art work, I really hope that this was just a once in a lifetime event. I guess we will see how this plays out. Will I be painting a Santa with a face-mask too? Time will tell.

Happy Easter!

TikTok Art~ The Latest Rage

So my older kids are always trying to help me with ideas on promoting my art and shops! They told me to take my art to TikTok and create something fast and fun. Well, that is so not easy! It takes me days to create an image with hours of working out the colors, shadowing, highlights etc.  I had to give it a try and see if I could paint on demand.

I thought that doing a loose floral watercolor would be easy. Painting fast, here is my Hyacinths Easter Basket.

Getting into it, I decided to do a dog drawing with a coffee cup!

After spending a few hours creating some TikToks, it was fun! It made my kids happy since they want to show off my art to their friends.

Watercolor Appreciation For Nurses

img_3762

Nurses don’t wait until October to celebrate “Make a Difference Day”. They make a difference everyday!” – Author unknown

Nurses are out there in the front lines of this Coronavirus. They are risking their health to take care of all who are sick.  I know there have been many nurses that I have had in my life that have made the difference. Their dedication, hard work, and loving care is so greatly appreciated.  I wanted to make a watercolor with the word HERO on their uniform because that is what they are to all of us.  They are Heros!

I will work on watercoloring a Doctor soon as they are Heros to during this health crisis.

Watercolor Birthday Cake & Decorations

pinklayercake

Needing to have something fun to look at all day because the news is too depressing. I love vibrant colors and pink is my favorite. So I decided to work on this pink layer birthday cake.  To increase my concentration efforts, I created the floral icing for the top part of the cake.

After working on this piece of cake, I was sad to see it finished. I wanted to keep going with this celebration of birth! So hopping online to Pinterest and did some digital window shopping.

partydecorations

Here are some of the fun pink birthday decorations I would love to have at a party! I am hoping to work on creating a pattern with these items for some birthday tissue paper or wrapping paper!

It was a  relaxing way to escape from everything that is going around. I might have to watercolor more birthday cakes since it was so much fun!
