Food illustration has become my passion these days. There is something about spending my time looking at food and trying to capture the exact look of the food or drinks. Here are my latest watercolor of food and drinks!
All of my watercolor is on Arches Cold Press 300 g/m
My watercolor paint that I am using is Windsor and Newton tubes and Sennelier L’Aquarelle Watercolor pan set
Pancakes with blueberries and strawberries.
Lemon Meringue Pie
Chocolate Strawberry Cake. I find it hard to get the plate down correctly. I am more comfortable with just the food illustration. I need to continue to work on pushing myself out of my comfort zone with watercoloring the plate.
Chocolate Donuts. I enjoy watercolor that shows a photorealism.
Raccoon in a Lollipop Candy store.
Salmon sashimi, this is a mix of watercolor and macron pen.
Spaghetti with tomatoe sauce. This was a first for me to draw and watercolor a fork. Again this is a mix for watercolor and macron pen.
Sunset Vodka Drink with Strawberry. Another challenge for me is getting the ice cubes and glass rim perfect and less sloppy.
All of my watercolor food illustrations are on my Zazzle shops.
Oh, decadent chocolate cake. You are calling for me to take the first bite. With blackberries, blueberries, and strawberries to mingle with the richness and sweetness of the chocolate. My taste buds are watering. Just looking at you puts me in a happy mood. You take me back to a wonderful memory of a trip to Venice, Italy. I see the Venetian Lagoon beyond the plate and it brings me back to a time when travel was fun. There were no worries, no virus, nothing that threatened my well being. My chocolate cake, thank you for your memories of wonderful vacation times.
Needing to have something fun to look at all day because the news is too depressing. I love vibrant colors and pink is my favorite. So I decided to work on this pink layer birthday cake. To increase my concentration efforts, I created the floral icing for the top part of the cake.
After working on this piece of cake, I was sad to see it finished. I wanted to keep going with this celebration of birth! So hopping online to Pinterest and did some digital window shopping.
Here are some of the fun pink birthday decorations I would love to have at a party! I am hoping to work on creating a pattern with these items for some birthday tissue paper or wrapping paper!
It was a relaxing way to escape from everything that is going around. I might have to watercolor more birthday cakes since it was so much fun!
During this time of uncertainty, I find myself listening to my audiobook ( Anne Of Green Gables House Of Dreams) and painting. There is something that is so comforting to listen to a story and escape.
Now for having a visual treat to work on that is just to go to pass up. I find that my interest in watercolor is of sweets, foods and drinks. So that past two days I have been working on this Strawberry Shortcake.
There is something about it that just looks happy! The colors, the juicy strawberries, the divine puffs of whipped cream!
I hope you enjoyed my watercolor and that it gives you a moment of happiness!
