Find the plant that you like and read your mental health activity for the day!
I hope this helps you find a fun way for a mental health break!
My favorite place in the whole world is Positano, Italy. This is a picture from inside my hotel room in Positano. When things get rough, I close my eyes and take a mental vacation. I lay down on my heating pad, listen to one of the “insight timer” music or guided meditations.
I work on making my meditation area as peaceful as possible. Sometimes I spray the room with a Lavender spray or coconut room spray. I know Amazon has wonderful options. I also use an eye mask to make sure that it’s very dark to help me relax even farther.
Also, I use other images from my Pinterest board that I have collected that make me feel very relaxed before going into mediation.

Here are a few of my own photographic images that I hope can create a mental vacation break for you.
So as we approach another week of “Stay Safe and Stay Inside”, use images and videos to help you mentally escape and have a little vacation.

Every day, more news comes out and you wonder, “When will it get better?”
We have hard times ahead and it can get very overwhelming. Here are a few Quarantine Questions for you to ask yourself in the days, weeks, hopefully not months ahead.
1. What am I grateful for today?
2. How will I move my body today?
3. Who can I check in with today, facetime, call, text, make a connection?
4. What can I unplug from for a couple of hours and how will that benefit me?
5. Have I meditated today for just a couple of minutes?
6. What can I draw, cook, write, sing to make me feel good today?
9. Have I done my stretches today?
10. Have I said my positive affirmations today?
Faith, Hope, Wisdom, Courage, And Admiration
The meaning of an Iris is faith, hope, wisdom, courage, and admiration. Source to meaning of Iris- Proflowers
Which of these words jumps out for you? Don’t think about it, just look at the words and focus on the word that your eyes are drawn to.
Mine is courage.
For me, it’s the courage to wake up every morning and deal with the level of lower back pain. That will present itself as I get ready for the day.
Affirmation With My Word
I have the courage to greet each morning with a relaxed body.
Now you give it a try! See if you can write or say an affirmation with your word.
With the word you have chosen, here are some activities:
Put the word on a post-it note and stick it around the house.
For the artist, create some art with your word and keep it as a screensaver on your iPhone, iPad or laptop!
For the number of letters in the word, journal that many days on how that word is so important to you. eg. Courage has 7 letters so that will be 7 days of journaling.
Find a podcast or quote that is about that word.
Here are a few of my activities to show you how I used the word.
“Above all, be the heroine of your life, not the victim.”

Have a wonderful last day in February!
“Thoughts become things. If you see it in your mind, you will hold it in your hand.” ~ Bob Proctor
This is a new week and with this comes different experiences, challenges, choices.
Sometimes we get stuck, we can’t move forward.
POWER OF THOUGHTS
What holds us back from doing what we really want to do? For me, it’s my thoughts, they control a lot of my day. Why is it so easy to let the negative thoughts take center stage.
Everyday, I have to work towards turning those negative thoughts away. That is why I felt this quote from Bob Proctor is a great motivational quote. It’s a reminder to us that our thoughts can become things. So why not focus on the positive thoughts that go through our heads and let them play out.
NEGATIVITY GETS IN THE WAY OF MY PAINTBRUSH!
This is watercolor picture, I was very negative on painting it. I love to do realist art. So when I decided to take a Skillshare class on fantasy birds, I knew this was going to be a challenge for me. I was very negative about taking this Hummingbird and moving past the realism to a more fanciful look.
Some of my reasoning was:
- It will look stupid.
- Will it look like fantasy or just trying too hard?
I gave it go because I really wanted to push myself out of my comfort zone. What I discovered durning this watercolor?
I had fun! I enjoyed taking my wild imagination and using it to create this Hummingbird. That it was ok to loosen up!!
So as you go into this week, I hope this quote is a gentle reminder that our thoughts are powerful.
