For #doodlewashJune2021, the prompt is Pearls and this really challenge me! I had to create the balance between pen and watercolor. I had so much fun working on this and was happy I pushed myself to do it. I almost walked away in the early stages of the drawing. The self doubts raised up in me “ how am I going to be able to create texture?”, “ what if the pearls look like blobs?”. Then I thought that how am I going to grow and continue to learn if I just stay in my safe place? So onward I went and created this fun little clam with some pearls! Thanks @doodlewash for the prompt.

Oriental Fan for this month’s art challenge #artfullyjune with my sister @segalascreatives @daphxine_art_challenges This is a special fan that holds special meaning to me. It was my late Mother’s fan that she would use often before her passing. I have it now and everyday it reminds me of her. I was happy to find an occasion to use it as a prompt in one of my art pieces.
